These four 15-second plugs is part of the healthy lifestyle campaign by the Philippine Heat Association and Novartis. The plugs are aimed at increasing the awareness on hypertension, a medical condition afflicting approximately 10.5 million Filipinos (five million of which are aware that they have hypertension but from that, only one million are able to control the disease). In short, only 2 out of 10 Filipinos taking medications for hypertension are able to control the disease. Hypertension, termed "silent killer" is a condition that can't be treated but can be controlled. If you or anyone you know has a blood pressure of 140/90, please go and consult your primary care physician (or cardiologists) immediately.
